In the lower city we find all the things that are not so visual, but retain lots about the peculiar Salvador, such as lovely sunset over the All Saints Bay.
We begin from Barra neighborhood, with the Atlantic Ocean view and Barra’s most famous icon, the lighthouse at the Saint Antonio Fort – We walk around the first lighthouse of the entire American continent. Later, we will continue passing by the Dique do Tororó, where you’ll see the Orixás sculptures representing the force of the earth by the Afro-Brazilian religion. Then, proceeding with a stop at the Nosso Senhor do Bonfim church, site of intense religion devotion and deeply syncretized with the Candomblé religion.
The Mont Serrat fort, one of the best examples of military primitive architecture in Brazil, gives a panoramic view of the city. Passing by the Ribeira neighborhood, we may stop for trying the drink icon of Bahia, the coconut water. The tour ends with a visit to the Lacerda Elevator, which was built to connect the lower Financial Center of Salvador with the port and market. A stop at the Mercado Modelo craft market for browsing and shopping is also included. You may have the option to have lunch either in a typical Brazilian bbq restaurant or in a typical Bahia cuisine restaurant. Tour may change according to other extra considerations.
